I was very excited to attend my first Awards Ceremony at the Culinary Institute of Virginia 9/18/13. While I was aware there are awards for Perfect Attendance or making the Dean's List, I was pleasantly surprised to see that awards are given to students who excel in certain areas: Professionalism, Positive Attitude, Exceptional Performance, Impact, etc. Not only are these additional awards great in and of themselves, but they are even more special because they are awarded by the Chef Instructors to students that made an impression!
The Awards Ceremonies are offered every three terms (once each semester). I'm really hoping to make a great impression on my Instructors, and also earn some of the other awards offered in addition to the Dean's List and Perfect Attendance. That would be the icing on the cake!
